logo  Tanja Burgdorfer alias Mayari  Dipl. Designer, Inventor and Artist says: "Hello and welcome to my website!"

Think for yourself - would a little less rubbish and a little less technology hurt us? Re*creations (practical-recycled-handmade products) show that less can be more than enough.

What does Mayari stand for?

Mayari stands for re*creation.

In fact, Mayari makes and offers you re*creations:
New handmade products from wasted material.

I passionately transform waste into useful, future-proof products and services. My aim is to design and create new and wiser processes and objects for a better today and tomorrow. I consider myself a visionary, future-orientated concept designer and multidisciplinary maker. I love positive changes!

Mayari’s real objective is using less virgin materials by making most of what we already have while putting as few CO2 into the air as possible.

Precisely, Mayari’s method and speciality is: reusing, altering, recycling waste i.e. things we don’t need anymore (a habit most of today’s consumers are not used to anymore) for making new, useful and responsible products and services (a concept that we really should get familiar with and - much more importantly - implement if we want to keep our planet’s natural diversity).

Using Mayari’s products and services may mean seeing and doing things differently than we are used to see and do them. Therefore, Mayari may challenge - but also surprise you. I hope you like nice surprises!

What do I believe in?

—  reduce, reuse, recycle, (re*create - recycling by responsibly altering/remixing/reusing waste)
—  the cradle to cradle principle when creating entirely new things (effectivity rather than efficiency)
—  what goes around comes around i.e. karma, the mensch (respect and responsibility)
—  top service, good relationships, equal giving and taking (building trust)
—  being honest and trying to live ones dream (keeping transparency and authenticity)
—  cherishing the curious and playful child in each of us (adventure, effort, laughter, pain, happiness)

further

—  on one hand low-tech and carbon neutral (crafts)
—  on the other hand high-tech and energy efficient (electrictronic or highly complex objects/services)
—  intellectual, emotional and handy designs
—  think globally, act locally
—  a balance between leadership and co-creation
—  Swiss quality and longevity
—  Social Businesses and The Girl Effect
